What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?
One topic that I’ve completely changed my mind about is the idea that turning 50 means you’re old. As I approach my 50th birthday this January, I can honestly say that I feel the best I have ever felt in my life, both mentally and physically. At this age, I’ve gained a profound sense of clarity about what I like and don’t like, what I want and don’t want. Decisions come more quickly now, guided by this understanding, and the relationships I have are much deeper and more meaningful.
I’ve noticed that I care less about appearances, even though I still maintain a certain standard for my health. It’s interesting how I’ve realized that not obsessing over my looks actually leads to better well-being. When I engage in conversations, I find myself looking deeper into others’ eyes, truly enjoying the connection and getting to know their beautiful souls.
Family has become even more important to me, much more important than hefty goals or achievements for myself. I feel a stronger pull towards them, wanting to express my love as much as possible. Having experienced loss and the deep pain it brings, also brings, new perspectives on the limited time we have here on earth. This awareness has shifted my motivations; I now find myself doing good not to be seen or to gain something in return, but because I genuinely recognize how much people need love and care in our world. If they have never felt it, how can they give it? Examples of love and care are needed more than ever so that they can be passed down.
I’ve been blessed with many wonderful people in my life, and their kindness inspires me to extend the same to others. One of the greatest gifts I believe I can give at this stage is listening, understanding, and love—something that God mercifully grants me each day.
So here’s to embracing the journey of turning 50, my mind is completely changed about it! It’s a time to celebrate clarity, connection, and the richness of life. 💜 It is a really great time!

First of all you look gorgeous 🙂 second of all having just turned 49, I 100% agree. My parents were in their early 80s told me that one of the blessings of getting older is that you don’t necessarily feel older and just care less about the stupid things and cared about when you were younger. Love my current age. Glad you had a change of perspective as well 🙂

Thank you friend! It sounds like your parents were very wise. Can you imagine how we will view life in our 80’s? ☺️
